of Convoy For Kids Goulburn Inc. |
| Convoy
for Kids Goulburn started in November 1999 after a local truck
driver had attended the Sydney Convoy. He felt that is was a
worthwhile cause, and after talking to other local truckies,
started the ball rolling in Goulburn. The first convoy started
at the Gateway Service Station and ended at the Showground. |
| Initially
our convoy was under the banner of the Cancer Council, with
all monies raised going to Sydney for use in Cancer Research. |
| Early
in 2001, the committee felt that the money raised by their hard
work would be of more benefit if it were used to assist local
families and children at the "grass roots" level,
and so the break from the Cancer Council was acted on. |

| 2001 |
The
Convoy concluded at Belmore Park, in the City center. The Convoy
Day featured a market, BBQ, truck awards, an auction and entertainment. |

| 2002 |
Saw
$25,000 raised on Convoy Day which resulted in us receiving
The Australia Day Community Event of the Year award. |
| 2003 |
Saw
88 trucks participating including the DIY Rescue truck. |
| 2004 |
A
very wet Convoy with participation by the CUB Big Red Truck
and the Clydesdale Horses. |
| 2005 |
Our
first year back at the Goulburn Showgrounds. |
| 2006 |
The
Goulburn Convoy departs from the Gateway Service Station
on the 2nd Saturday in November, each year. |

| Mission
Statement |
Convoy
for Kids Goulburn Inc is
a registered local charity which provides support and assistance
to children in Goulburn and the surrounding areas who have
cancer or severe disabilities. From new born up to 18 years
of age.
The
assistance may be in the form of medical equipment, accommodation
and/or traveling expenses for hospital visits or the purchase
of learning equipment for the severely disabled.
Convoy
for Kids Goulburn Inc also supports The Goulburn
Crescent School and The Goulburn Base Hospital Children's
Ward.
Where
ever possible, Convoy for Kids Goulburn Inc purchases
locally, keeping monies raised by the generosity of people
of the Goulburn area, in our area. |

The area is defined as a 50km radius (approximately)
of Goulburn, encompassing Taralga in the North, Penrose
to the East, Tarago in the South and Gunning to the
East. |

edges of the map are fuzzy because we are not going
to turn you away for the sake of a few hundred meters. |
